About Us

WERE DAVID AND SUZANNE and were invited in February 2015 to serve in the Kingdom of Tonga on assignment with the U.S. Peace Corps from August 2015 through November 2017. Suzanne was to be a Primary Education Teacher Trainer; David was to be a Primary Education English Teacher.

Time ran out before both of us were medically cleared for Peace Corps service. We passed on the opportunity this year and opened our slots for other Peace Corps candidates to take our places.

Tevita and Susana

Tēvita and Susana at Tonga’s famous Blow Holes near Houma on the southwest coast of the main island of Tongatapu.

At the same time, we decided to create our own South Seas adventure. In October 2015, we traveled to Tonga to find our own place in the sun. What’s going to happen? We have no idea, but follow along and we’ll discover it together.

In this journal, we use our Tongan names: Tēvita and Sūsana.
